Nah dude - been back in NY since the 18th.
Looks like my wife and I are not moving out there. The whole point would've been to try to have a lower cost of living, but have an income that - while of course being less than NY - would be proportionally larger; a better ratio of expenditures to income.
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem possible. I interviewed with a guy in my same industry, and fact is, I would've been working twice as hard, and earning the same pay for a WEEK's work that I make in a DAY here in NY. Not exactly a good financial move. And that job was my best bet - everything else I looked at (that I'm qualified for) was even less pay on average.
It's all good though - we had an awesome time anyway. AZ is beautiful, and the downtown Tucson area (like 4th street) is very cool. We hung out at Brooklyn Pizza and North on Fourth - I'm sure you know of those joints. We srove up Mount Lemmon and our sea-level-accustomed asses almost passed out from the altitude (9,000+ feet) . Plus, we took a couple of days and went to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and stayed at the Hard Rock in Vegas for a night, too. We put almost 2000 miles on the rental car we had for the week - and that kicks ***!
For now, the trip gave us a new appreciation for living in dirty, expensive, cold, traffic-congested NY. We're gonna work really hard for the next few years to bank as much cash as possible, then look at our options. You live in a gorgeous part of the country, and we just may decide to ship out there after all once our finances are better.
Glad things are going better with your car - hopefully, the cops will get that biotch and everything will get settled.

repairs
I don't know how your state works but in florida on my previous car which was an 2001 cavalier it was completly vandalized... im talkin the whole car had to be repainted and my graphics had to be taken off for painting. well i go through all-state and i had to go to their main office to get a quote from them on how much they think it would coast to be repaierd and replaced. well they gave me $200 for my graphics which only coast $140 and $70 to remove them... well i removed them myself so that gave me an extra $70 on top of the $65 extra from the graphics. and you woulnd't guess it i had a aluminum spioler and that had to be removed as well... so i did that too another $65 for me so that game me $200 dollars extra and my deductable was 500 so i really only had to pay $300 so it helped alot. but also in fl you have the right to request and recieve all new parts not repairs. and also with all-state if you go to one of their shops you get a lifetime warrenty on the work... i dont know if its the same way with progressive but if it is you should be able to have the work done at your local mazda dealership if they have a body shop this way everything will be done the right way.... But DO NOT EXCEPT REPAIRS GET NEW FOR YOUR SAFETY.

Wow...thats a lot...are they going to provide a car for you for these two months? Are they considering totaling it?
I hit a tree at about 40mph. Completely destroyed the car (SVT Contour) blew off the right side of my face, burned my neck and chest, and knocked me clear out. I love when cops say things like "Oh she was going about 40" when obviously thats not true because at 40 your car would've ended up about 5 feet long.
I'm glad you're ok though man...
