K&N Air Filter Q's
I am plannin on getting a K&N Air Filter for MY 2002 Protege ES.
There are just a few things i'd ike to know, i'd appreciate it if you guys coud help me out.
1. Does anyone know the exact model or item number of the filter that will fit my car.
2. Can I buy it at Canadian tire?
3. How much does it cost, (CAN.)?
4. How much of a performance increase will I see?
5. I heard that the filters are supposed to last for forever, is this true?
Anyways, thanks for the help in advance.

I had one in for about 3 months. There was a slight difference over the paper filter but not much.
I then installed a Ractive intake...definitely a difference over stock.
Don't waste your money on a drop panel filter.
Just my opinion...if you insist on the K&N I'll sell you mine!!

K&N
The filter is worth it!! There will be less hesitation when you stomp on the gas because of better air flow. HP gain is not really noticeble!!! But fuel economy seemed to get better and therefore filter pays for itself!!!!!

http://www.martelbros.com has them for $29 US with free shipping. I ordered one for my Mazda Tribute last week and the shipping was fast. I would expect ~+1 hp on a Protege compaired with new paper filter.
