kartboy bushings questions
How can you remove the bushings? I had to chop off a half. Does this bushing create any long term tranny wo's? Does it put any strain on the tranny or make it work harder? One more question and then i'm done. Did anyone w/ these bushing receive candy in the box? Thanks.

Oh yeah, I gotted da candy! Real face planting sour gum *****. The bushings should have NO negative effect on the tranny. Actually, I don't grind the 1 to 2 shift anymore due to these so it might actually help longevity.

Candy? What candy? Hmm, I got mine from Serious Auto in California as they are one of Kart Boy's resellers. Oh well.
By the way how come you had to cut your old bushing? If you look at Kart Boy's web site and look at their install instructions, there should be no need to cut anything.

I got candy. The real trick to getting the stock bushings out (even if they're brand new) is to spray some lubricant in as best you can. I pulled back on each lip on the sides and gave it a shot of white lithium grease. Whammo, came right out like magic. Without the grease, I about broke my thumb, even using the bolt as a punch, trying for 5 minutes to get it off.

The best thing to use to remove or install any type of rubber bushing is silicon spray. It also works great for assembling spark plug wires (non-preterminated). It works really well for removing exhaust hangers also. Basically anything rubber. It oxidizes away fairly rapidly also so it won't leave a film like WD-40 or spray grease.
