Kinda new

Hey.. just wanted to chime in here.. I guess I registered a while back, and forgot about it..

My names Julie..I live in Florida and own a 2002 Protege' 5.. Actually, I'm wanting to get some decent looking white wheels on it..and I'm wanting to know which kind would be best... should I stay with the 15s or should I go to 17s?

Any info on this would be great

It's all personal preference.

15" wheels will offer better acceleration and cheaper tires than 17s. 17" wheels will look better and help the handling. The tires can get pretty expensive to replace.

I, personally would go with 17s.

So your car came with 16" wheels and you've downsized to 15"?

I'd jump up to 17s for sure... why'd you go smaller in the first place?

possibilities:

15's (don't know why u put those on) would be odd looking.
16's might give u problems should ur tire be unpatchable.
17's look awesome and tire size availability is not a problem

i vote 17's. but white wheels? what color is ur 5?
and "welcome back" to the club!

Thanks for all the replys.. I appreciate it..

I meant to type 16s, not 15s.. my bad I would never down-size a wheel..!!! Now do you guys think the white wheels would look good with a white car. I've been thinking about this alot.. At first, I was like ehh looks crappy..now I've sorta changed my mind and think it looks pretty decent. opinions??

pimp, i'm in the Tampa vicinity.

rims

id go with 17's but not in white. go with either a gunmetal of a silver. i have a white MP5 and i put white rims on it for about 20 mins and took them right off it they looked like ***. but this is my opinion to each their own.

Plus, if you get white wheels, you'll have to clean them more often, and they will show dirt, etc. more than a gunmetal or silver wheel.

It really depend on what type of rims that you are putting on your car. Check out this site, it allows you the option of checking out the wheel options on specific Vehicles.

17's

I would go with 17's unless you like the big wheel look than go with the 18's my boy ghost 323 has 18's and they look sweet as hell.

Don't go on tire rack, all of their wheels suck.

If you want a bitchin' set of white wheels, get Volk TE-37 in white. For a really nice look on a white car (imho) go with bronze colored wheels. Volk makes bronze TE-37s that look pimp on white cars.

I have white rims on my car, and I really like the look! As for them getting dirty, I wash my car everyday in the summer, so it's not really of concern. If you do white on white, as long as they are the same shade (color?) of white, it'll look pimp. If the wheels are more of a cream shade (which tends to be the case) then it'll look gay.

Exclamation rims

I wouldnt go all white, there are some rims out there that are white but have a polished lip and/or center. That would set the rim apart from the car. My thought is hyperblack or silver would look good, but dont go with a full gunmetal rim it makes the car look like a taxi. And if you can spend a little more get the 18s you will not regret it. I dont!
