LED Bulbs!

It feels like I've been making alot of threads lately...

Anyways, I'm thinking of swapping out some bulbs (brake lights) for their LED cousins. Now, most of these bulbs go for a decently high price on most sites.

Just wondering if anyone has had any good/bad experiences with some brands. I don't want to buy some junk that will be burnt out in a month for $30 a pair.

don't buy anything at your local auto parts stores.. at all.

And yeah, they are pretty expensive. I bought mine from http://www.superbrightleds.com/carbulb-notes.htm

be really careful with the brake lights.. too dim, and you'll die.

edit: don't buy from superbrightleds.com for your brake lights.. you need to find a site that offers "tower" style or "spider" style led bulbs for them to be at all bright enough.

I did think of that, I do have a 10 LED brake light on my spoiler, so that helps. I have seen some bulbs that are like a 34 LED bulb tower on ebay.

I just don't want them burnt in 2 weeks like most ebay bulbs.

LED's do light up quicker than normal bulbs right? Does that make them safer?

yeah it makes them safer, but your taillight reflectors were designed specifically for an incandescent bulb filament. Anything else will throw off the light output a LOT
