Hi, first thread! I feel like such the newb

Anyways, my dilema....I've just recently purchased an '02 MP5 w/ 63k miles. After about a 20 minute drive I notice something squeeking or squeeling coming from under the hood, sounds like it's coming from the a/c compressor side, it stops when I hit the gas but comes back when i back off...It's a God awful noise but only happens when it's good and hot and has happened with the a/c on and off...any ideas? The belt looks fine and is tight....thanks in advance

yeah that was is, mazda told me only that something was loose in the engine

what a joke, still sounds like a loose belt to me....

 

I just had a strange sound issue recently, turned out to be the water pump. It sounded like a rock stuck in the belt. The water pump failed because someone replaced the belts and over tightened them.

 

check the alt belt if you can twist it past 45 dagrees its to loose
