Long post
Well in the next couple of months I will be selling my Evo VI. I have to say it is one of the best handling cars I have ever driven. My P5 cant even hold a candle to it. But with the selling of my Evo I am thinking about getting an MSP. I do have a couple of questions.
I could get a new Evo, it would be a while before I mod it(money) And if I cant mod a car right away it takes most of the fun out of owning a car. Which is why I am thinking about the MSP. I already own a P5, and I have to say that Mazda has definitly impressed me. I never owned a Mazda before my 5. Right now it is a toss up between the MSP, Ralliart Lancer and another Evo. My biggest thing is the drop in drive. My Evo and the 5 are two totally different cars. 4WD-FWD, Turbo-NA, and the most important 250hp-120hp. Sometimes when I drive my 5 I find my self waiting for the boost to kick in .
So the for all you MSP owners let me pick your brains. If I get the MSP can the stock internals handle 240hp? If I get the MSP I am saying to hell with the warrenty and going straight to the shop, and wont stop untill I am getting 220-240 to the ground. I was reading some old post and saw that some of you guys are having problems with the tranny. I didnt read much but has anyone fixed those probs yet? I dont like drag racing so she has to be able to be "driven" everyday. With all that said does anyone on this forum live in the Ft.Gordon/Augusta Ga area with a MSP? I am gonna be in the area getting some "G-14 classified" trainning and would like to look at someones MSP without some geek in a suit trying get me to fill out paper work. Sorry so long
Thanks

In the great words of Roddimus Prime
IMO... buy a new Evo. May I ask why you are selling your current Evo?
Proteges are very reliable cars....unless you buy a Mazdaspeed!! Those things fall apart if you fart in them.

Yeah, what he said I said.
MSP's with 240whp are VERY few and far between and they are all riding on forged internals, stand alone EMS and possibly a bigger turbo. Why not just keep the P5 and build it up. It would be less and just as fast.
p.s. the entire MSP suspension can be had on the P5 for about $950. A forged shortblock is $2100 from wagner, your choice of turbo kit is about $3500. $7K will get you one awesome car.

Well I am selling my Evo cause I cant bring it back to the states. It is 100% JDM, RHD the works. The onlything stoping me from getting a new one is money. Evo's need lots a TLC and if she aint taken care of it will cost you a lot later in life. The Evo might have to wait untill I get out the military.
I did think about turbo'n the P5 but wifey has to drive the 5, and the last thing I need is her f***ing it up.
Are the MSP's that bad on reliability....

msp's have a good tendancy to fall apart. suspension noises, blown motors, horribly tuned ecu's, faulty stereos, crummy intercooler, etc..
you should pay whatever to ship the evo back here and sell it on ebay for a butt-load and take that money and build up the P5. Even an "all motor" p5 would be pretty stout.

Man yall are hurting my feelings with all the bad news. I thought the MSP would be better than the P5. I did a search and damn heat shilds, radio and cracking the damn winshield aint cool. The search continues for the perfect whip.
It will cost way to much to bring the Evo back, not to mention if I ship it back there is a good chance that it will get stripped.
