For 2003 the ES comes standard with the 16" wheels. I was tempted to buy a 2002 ES GT so I could get the larger (and IMO much nicer looking) wheels. The dealer was trying to move out old stock to make space.

Since I didn't particulary need a moonroof, or a rear spoiler on a front wheel drive car the fact that the '03 came standard with the 16" wheels made my decision all the easier.

Im a little confused here. Starting in 2001, the ES came standard with 16 inch wheels. You did not have to order any optional package (called GT or otherwise) to get the wheels, hence "standard" with 16" wheels.

Maybe the 2002 had the 17" accessory wheels?

then again, they did change the ES wheels slightly b/w 2002 and 2003, but I thought both were the same size...
