Magnetic bra....

Magnetic bra....
After 4-5 months with this thing, I have to say that I am very unimpressed. When I received it, I was very impressed with how it looked. However, after some wear and tear, I think it's a piece of garbage.
I wash the car once a week and perform Meguiars "quick details" between washes. I removed the bra every two weeks and cleaned under it and applied more wax/polish.
I was told that it wouldn't allow water to get underneath it---not true. Everytime I took it off, there was moisture. Not a lot, but more than I was told would be there. Before someone asks, yes, I made absolutely sure I had it positioned correctly and that there were no gaps between the paint and the magentic portion.
After 4 months, the edges that go under the hood, on the side, are cracked and falling off. There are two spots on the leading edge of the hood that have cracked and are crumbling. It's not from things hitting it as the front edge is covered with a piece of rubber as a "finisher.' It's breaking because the quality of the magnet is very cheap.
The idea is a good one and it does look nice. However, the durability of the product is horrible. It was only $30-something. However, it sounds like I am going to have to buy a new one every 6 months
Just food for thought for those who are thinking about this for their car.

The bra is nice. However, I wouldn't buy it if I were you. It's not even worth $30 if you ask me.
Take care-

sniff sniff...I miss my 92 SE-R. Is there a support group for this?
I got run off the road by a late eighties VW Jetta incursion into my lane from the other direction. And the guy didn't even stop.
And even though that was nearly 7 years ago, when I see a white Jetta I can't help checking to see if it has crooked front bumper like that one had. When(or if) I find the bastard...it better be a nun driving.
Alright...enough off topic

Garbage--that's the best word to describe the quality of these.

I have had mine for a few months now and haven't had any problems with it. At first rain would get under it where the hood has those contours. Now I take it off when I wash my car every 2 weeks and there usually is almost nothing under it. Sometimes there will be a little bit of dirt near the very top.
I am kinda disappointed with it because it is getting tons of rock chips. I know its better than my hood being all chipped but I thought it was made to hold up against that kind of thing.
