Smile Mazda 323F Bj - 2001 Timing Belt replacement.

Hallo all,
I've a Mazda 323F BJ, 2001, which works perfectly without any problems (), what is nice about the car is that, it has just 33000 km, (Actually, it belongs to my grandfather who is using it just to go shopping).
My question is related to the timing belt, according to the manual I still have thousand kilometers to drive before it is time to change it. However, what I know that it is recommended to change the timing belt for cars when it is about 10 years old.
I'm wondering if someone could give me some advice at this point.
Thanks in advance.
