I was unaware that K&N made a shorty intake out of metal hence the Brand New (ASMI) it is only the K&N filter and oil

It just says it comes with a K&N recharger kit, it doesn't say anything about the brand of filter nor intake.

Yep, same thing same person same everything.

Nice cheap system. for the most part and intake is an intake. Just depends on if you wanna pay for the name brands or not.

I really enjoy it and love the new growl of my car.

This is a K&N filter for a Protege:

I have no idea what filter this has, in fact, you can't even see it:

Nowhere in the description does it say "K&N filter":
This intake system comes with polish finish. Made by the best materials. It comes with all the hardwares and a shield filter. This shield filter deflects underhood heat away from the intake and allows denser, cooler air to enter. The filter alone, retail at $49.00! K&N recharger kit included! Retail at $19.00 This kit will clean and oil the filter for long lasting life and better air flow. Exactly as pix shown below. Power performance 8+hp or more. The only thing you are paying is the intake itself not the commercial ads. This intake performs as good as some "big names" but cost $100.00 less! So Hurry! before all gone.
* Come with instructions. Easy to install. Only need your time and tools.
Caveat Emptor. Don't be surprised if you don't get what you think you should.

Ok, maybe I shouldn't have said filter(K&N) as I did take his word for it. If I get the time this weekend I'll have to pop the hood off the intake and see what type of filter is on that bad boy.

But all in all it is a good intake and I enjoy it.
