I think the Mazdaspeed Protege will be putting down more than the estimated 170 hp...Simply because of the VW issue.

Also, last I heard, the SRT-4 still isn't a for sure thing for Dodge.

And I'm willing to bet that if Dodge does make it, it won't anything near what the test car is.

For their sake, I hope you're wrong. There's all kinds of pictures and specs on the dodge website. I live very close to the Belvidere assembly plant where Neons are built & I have actually seen a couple around the lot.

I could be wrong...But I have heard about $20,000. I would say that it is reliable, but who knows.

My info has been suspect elsewhere for some reason.

TURBO INSTALLS

Mazda will be installing the turbos at the ports..ie Flat Rock, jJersey, and also on the west caost ports. Training for the installs will start in about 3 weeks and then you should be seeing cars on the lots. Not every Mazda dealer will be able to sell the cars though. You have to be a MAZDASPEED dealer to sell and service the vehicles. If you buy one, you have to take it back to that dealer, a normal dealer will not be able to do ANY warranty work on it. If you got more questions, let me know.

?

So SILV02ES, may I ask a few MAZDASPEED?'s

What numbers are you seeing for pricing?

How do we know which dealerships are going to be MAZDASPEED?

What options will be available?

Color choices?

Will leather be an option?

Thanks for bein' a sport!

According to my new Zoom-Zoom mag (official Mazda publication), colors choices will be the orange and Black Mica. Don't know about the rest. They mentioned target date as "by fall".

As far as the colors, there was an article a while ago that had all the info. This is what I THINK I remember reading:

Of the 1500 that will be sold in America, 1250 will be black and 250 will be orange. All 500 sold in Canada will be orange.

I'm sure "SILV02ES" can give some more accurate info, but again I think I remember reading this.

I believe the basic options will be just like the MP3, but the turbos are being installed here in the states. Price I believe is going to be around $21k. As far as dealers go, you guys would have to check your local dealer to see if they are going to be a "Mazda Speed" dealer.
