Messed up the heater, doing a/c mod
Hey guys,
Wonder if anyone can help me out in what I might have done wrong. I pulled apart the dash of my 2002 P5 on the weekend to do the a/c mod. (Disable the a/c from coming on automatically when in defrost mode).
Unfortunately, now my heater doesn't put out much heat. It is still adjustable, somewhat. Turning it to cold, still blows cold air, but turning it all the way to hot only blows luke warm air.
I did another P5 at the same time and it worked fine. All I did was pull out the trim around the stereo, use a set of needlenose pliers and pluck out the little rocker switch that turns on the a/c when the air direction selector moves clockwise past the 'floor' direction.
Any suggestions? Anyone have problems doing that before?
Thanks,
Geoff

That's what I thought. But, the temp does change from cold to warm, but not hot, so it couldn't have come apart, totally. I won't be able to look at it till tonight, but that's where I'm going to start.
Thanks,

Make sure the cables are positioned right in the clips that are behind the dash (the barbed clips), and make sure that cables are routed so that there's no hard bends. The first time I took mine apart, when I put it back together I could barely turn the temp **** past the middle setting, but the cable was sort of kinked because I didn't route it right.

Turns out one of the clips that holds the cable to the firewall had come off. It holds the black plastic exterior in place, so the cable on the inside can move out and back.
Thanks for your input guys.
