MP5 Power question

I just got a new 2003.5 MP5 black. Actually, I've had it for 3 weeks now and have put 2500 km on it. I broke the car in following the owners manual instructions.

I'm just wondering the feeling you guys have when driving your MP5.

I have great power on the first 1/2 of the gas pedal...but the rest of the way down doesn't seem to give me anymore power. IE...half way down is equalilant to all the way down.

I thought this car would have more power. but i guess 130 HP is 130 HP.

How do your cars measure up to this statment?

Well I can agree with that in forth and fifth gears but on the first three, I get going pretty quick. Of course my idea of breaking in the car and Mazdas differed greatly. 117mph on day 2...

Is it automatic or stick shift?

I noticed the same deal on my sedan, after about half way in there's no difference in acceleration, I've got a stick if that matters for comparison. Hope this helps ease your mind a bit..........they make turbos for the P5 so have fun with that!

Ya, I have the stick model. Okay, that does make me feel better. Thanks guys. And mine is really only noticeable in 4th and 5th gear like Dave said.

I just painted my calipers last night...They look great.

And I am planning on putting in a turbo in the next year. So that will definately help with the get up and go aspect of the car.
