MSP ECU Upgrade

to my understanding, it could be done fairly easily, however the cheapest I have found one new is about $750, and you will still hit the inherent limitations of a factory computer if you want to get serious about doing mods... Haltech makes a unit that works with our cars that is not a piggy back or anything, for about $1200(i think) but you'll have to learn a whole lot more about your car... hope this helps

Any body know if there is an upgrade for the P5 ECU?
ZZOOOMM, I'll see next Sunday at Denny's in Prescott Valley.
There are 16 people signed up for the run so far.

Yes, but there is hardly any noticable difference. Take it into your dealership for the upgrade. It's called a PCM reprogramming.

About how much do you think that would cost?
What all do they reprogram? What are the alleged benifits of having the PCM reprogrammed?
Thanks

It's under warranty. It will cost you nothing but the time it takes you to take it in.
The PCM reprogramming is for the variable valve timing. Apparenty this timing can be adjusted to reduce the "swirl" effect of the air/fuel coming into your engine and help to decrease the rattle at startups.
Honestly, I did not notice much of a difference but I would still take it in to get the latest programming.
