My Crashed P5
I was finally able to get pictures loaded of my P5. It doesnt look so bad except that the front end has been moved over about 3 inches and the frame will have to straightend. damage is around 4 grand. Even though the girls insurance company will cover the cost of repair it still pisses me off because I dont have a new car anymore. I will be posting step by step of the repair process.
Has anyone else been in wrecks with theirs and if so do you have pics?
There are about 12 pictures so hit next when browsing through

4k does seam high. but if you want it done right it will cost ya. im sure with that new of a car. you dont have to worry about them using aftermarket body panels. it good your taking pics of this along the way.

Yea I posted in that thread too Yay but Im going to continue to take pictures and post them on here as the repairs get done. The original estimate was $2300 for all of the body panels "hood, fenders, bumper" But once they pulled those off they realized that they will have to replace the inside skirts tons of brackets and mounts, and they will have to straighten the front part of the frame because its bent to the left. it actually comes out to $3800 and change. All of the part are OEM parts and this is a pretty high class repair shop. They paint the cars in a special vacum room so as to eliminate overspray and dust. Then the have another room where they bake the paint or something.

Minor bumper accident
Last month I was in a minor accident when this dumbass (who I almost took out my steel pipe for) was driving on my side of the lane (FAST) because he thought it was a one lane road (small access road heading towards Fry's Electronics). The worst part about this was that he was driving a bit too fast or else we would have avoided each other without any damage. I didn't have room to maneuver to my right and I didn't want to shoot to the left on his side of the road ... soo, ended up braking hard (which I was surprised when it virtually stopped clean... good brakes, good brakes ), he saw me at the last moment and swerved away (to his right - my left) ... but still couldn't avoid the hit. I snagged his rear-end left side bumper. Scratched the **** out of it, but otherwise, no major damage to his car. He drove a white '91 626 DX. Tough bumper he had... weak bumper I have! hehe. He and his buddy, who was riding in the car at the time, turned out to be very co-operative people so I didn't get all excited over the idea of beating the crap out of him.
The good thing is that no major damage was done to my car. Bumper replacement, fog light replacement since they didn't work, hood repair and fender repair. The new bumper was repainted and came out quite nice... no holes were drilled into the license plate hole indentions.... so kind of nicer than what I had before. No frames bent.
I think the accident was under 5mph on impact. Therefore, my repair cost was under two grand, somewhere around $1500 total cost. His insurance paid for it, but we both had the same company insuring our cars.... so I can expect a hiked up rate next year.... bastards.
Here's a few pictures I took. (stored on the MazdaMP3 website, because I couldn't find anywhere to upload here)

As you may imagine I was extremely upset when I saw it. I have some pics here or click the WWW

$4000?Amateur...
I got hit in the same corner(drivers front corner) and it cost $10 000 to fix(can anyone say"shoulda been a write off?")
I don't have pics of the body damage but I do have them of the sub frame & suspension.
I had the sub frame replaced, drivers fender, hood, front end(including the lights),rim, drivers side lower trim piece, engine mount, the driver side front suspension(all of it),and various tubes, wires, and harnesses all replaced.
I will e-mail them to you if you like. They are pretty big though

Did any of you ask for money for depreciation of the car? Is this just a myth or will insurance companies actually give you money for this if you annoy them long enough?
I got rear-ended a while ago, and while it's not too bad, it will be around 800$ to fix. It was the other person's fault, so it's okay, but if I ever try and resell my car, that won't look bad, but ya know, it adds up in the end. Just wondering.....
and it's true, Stupid people are everywhere! Even got a few here in VanCity

Austin, Texas ... where the Aggie engineers developed IH-35!!! Where they didn't bother figuring that maybe 10-20 years later IH-35 may need extra space to be expanded as the population grows!! AND, by golly ... the city where road constructions are 24/7 and 365 days!!! Austin, Texas ... where you know never go near Ben White and IH-35 intersection .... at least going west ... or else you may want to pack a Snickers bar with you while you wait in traffic!! The city where we are one of the few mid-large sized cities to NOT have a loop!
But Austin has one of the best bike trails in Texas, and is beautiful with a fairly laid back environment.
