Angry my P5 is going thunk thunk, what could it be?

there is a ratle somewhere in the back end of my pro5!!!

i've taken everything out of my car that isn't tide or bolted down and its still makes that noise when going over a bump

the sound is comming somewhere in the hatch area, im thinking it could be these things

- pressure arms that lifts the hatch
- light in the spoiler
- hinges on the hatch? (checked the bolts though and they seem tight)
- something in the rear suspention (although it doesn't sound like its comething through there, sounds like its around the hatch part itself)

i do have a 10" 150 watt sub tube and this noise has only just started this week in the -20 degree temps

idea's, suggestions?

thanks

Check the spare tire or maybe you have a tool kit in the tire well that is bouncing around? With the cold we've been having who knows?

Could it be your license plate?

i'd be willing to bet that it's one of 2 things...

1. the p5 has a crappy license plate bracket... everytime you go over a bump.. the bottom portion of the bracket rattles against the hatch door...

2. the spare tire well may have a loose object inside...

later,

Imagine that.
The roof rack is noisy.
Did Mazda even test the car w/ the roof rack? I haven't seen one person that LIKES the roof rack. The one time I tried to use it, I put my surfboard up there and opened the rear hatch..... And scratched the hell out of the spoiler (is that what that is over the rear window?) with the nose of my board! Lesson Learned. The rack came off that day. The board fits inside, anyway.
