New Protege owner

Just traded in my 2001 Focus SE (major investment) for a 2003 Protegé ES. Actually, I did it about 2 months ago, and I've been looking for a loyal fan base. I used to be a die-hard Ford guy, but the Focus's brake jobs were eating through my wallet. Couldn't be happier with the Mazda! It's loaded, Laser Blue (of course), 5-speed, and stock for now. I don't see too many around here, and that makes me happy.

See you around the forums.

Hey and welcome to the forum. I thought the Focus was supposed to be really good. Funny thing is, is that I was going to test drive the Focus after the Protege, but after test driving the ES, I was sold! I liked the peppiness and the handling!! That is what sold me. It looks pretty tight too!

No plans for mods just yet, other than tinted windows. I'm pretty happy with the stock package. Maybe a few extra ponies under the hood at some point down the road.

I forgot to mention that I tried to remove the rear badges and was surprised to see that they're not the stick-on kind like on most cars, or at least like they were on my Focus so I could easily remove them... kinda disappointing. I like the clean look.

Welcome to the forum. Yeah, one of my friends just got rid of her focus. She was running into lots of repairs. She picked up an RSX though........

Hi Laser and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
