Lightbulb Newb needs help!!!

How do I adjust my headlights so they beam at the right level. Because right now they are ilumintaing just about 1 ft from the car(way to low) I probably can figure it out but would like a heads up if anyone is kind enough to point me in the right deirection. Already checked out the How To's but nothing there.

I wouldn't touch it myself. Go back to the dealer and have them do it. They should have a special alignment tool to make sure they're good. If you screw it up you could be HEAVILY fined by po-po. I've seen it happen on a friends SRT4 he did an HID retro-fit and messed up the alignment.

bad idea.

How did the headlight alignment get so far off? Was it like that when you bought the car? Are they the original headlights, or some sore of retrofit hid system?

You can adjust the headlights if you have the proper procedure, and have the car on a flat surface with a vertical wall in front. I have seen the procedure somewhere, but I can't remember at the moment. I'll see if I can find it and post back if I do. But Roddimus is right about not touching it if you don't know how.

OK, found it. The headlight adjustment procedure is on page 09-18-5 of the repair manual.

Attempt at your own peril, muhahahaha.

Well The car came with bumper and side fender damage as well as a headlight broken so I purchased new ones and got the front end fixed at a body shop. I think they did not align them properly. I am taking it back to make them correct the problem. Because yesterday was the first time driving the car at night since the fix and it was an interesting drive being able to see only 1ft ahead of me. Neddles to say I did not go to far.

Thanks guys for all your help I'll let you know how it comes out.
