yeah thats a good way of looking at it. i really haven't had to many smiles per hour lately though. between all the damn rattling and vibrating in the car and the car shifting hard between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd. i need to take my car to the doctor to see what thats all about.

don't know anything about the exhaust problems but i know a car you should check out. 03 mitsubishi lancer oz rally edition. my friend just got one of those a couple weeks ago. except for the crappy lookin oz wheels its a pretty attractive car and it drove a lot nicer than my mazda. i offered to trade cars with her but she wouldn't do it.

Mitsus I heard have really bad trannys and the reliability of them are completely shitty....

I was looking to a Lancer but opted for the protege due to reliability among many other things

There must be a long history of bad trannys with Mitsus--I bought a new one back in 1989 and had to have the tranny replaced at 30k!

I got my 2003 Protege ES-GT and it's really great. It's finally starting to pick up on it's fuel economy and I just love the laser blue

yeah .... car's in great condition ... no rust or anything ... leaking from seams where it shouldnt ... makes you think ... and yes i understand i bought it used and was no longer under warranty ...

oh well ... got screwed in the *** on this one

ATTN ALL CAR OWNERS: do check for leaks in your trunk ... no matter what car you have ... drive through a lake to find where the leaks are coming from ... and if your about to buy one that leaks when you do that ... have them fix those leaks ... or just buy a boat .... hmm that sounds like a good idea ... anybody sellin a boat?

yea actually it's easy to tell if water is present. Lift the carpet and take a big wiff. You should smell nothing.
