I installed the kartboy shifter and bushings over a month ago and I have been noticing a subtle buzzing/grinding noise. I bent the heat shielding back thinking the shifting rod was rubbing, but I'm still hearing the noise.

It sounds similiar to a noise you might hear if you put some pressure on the shifter while in drive. Would the changes to the shifter put a constant pressure on the linkage and cause a noise from the clutch?

Has anyone had this problem with the kartboy shifter or any other shortshifter? Any ideas on what's causing it?

Kartboy Short Shifter & Bushings

 

I installed a Kartboy and didn't like the length. Thought it was too short. I reinstalled the stock shifter and I thought it was quieter also. Exactly like you described about a gear noise. Not much, kinda like straight cut gears. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this.
