other than oem tire size for 2003 p5?

I just got my new p5 and already am thinking about different tires for this car. i do like the dunlops that came with it but was thinking about something wider like 205 or 215 with on the same original wheel. has anyone tried wider tires on the original wheels? i have upped my gen1 protege size from 175/70/13 to 205/60/13 and only had to put in spacers on back wheels. but the clearance seems to be sufficient on the 2003 p5 so i wont have to put spacers in there.

no, but you can probably try 205/45/16.

I have 205/50 R16 Firestone Firehawks on my P5. They're about as grippy as the stock Dunlops, but with a tread pattern that works better in the wet.

The sidewalls look a _little_ bulgy compared to the 195's, but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Anyone know how wide a tire will fit? I was thinking of sticking with the 16, but want a larger contact patch. I have a tire calcualtor, so i can figure that out, I just need to know what width tires people have had good sucess with.

the widest you can go is 205/45/16, thats what I put on my 2002 MP5, the guy at the shop told me to expect more tire wear in the middle with that size, I paid 875.00 CAD for the tires , they where pirelli P7000, I hated the ride sold them a month later , sold my 16" rims seperate and slapped on 17" with 205/40/17 yokohama, night and day diff, I personaly don't think its worth buyin wider for the originals wheels, upgrade to 17".
