P5 Accessories (exhaust)

P5 Accessories (exhaust)
I just received a little package in the mail the other day from Mazda with the touch-up paint, a newsletter and some brochures. The one that caught my eye was the accessories brochure. It has a picture of a sport exhaust that is offered for the P5, part #0000-8M-C10. Anyone have any info on this (ie. manufacturer, cost, etc.). From the picture it kinda looks like the Dynomax ultraflow I have on my Talon. It looks like a really nice muffler. The tip doesn't appear to be overly large and it has a nice rolled edge.
The quote from Mazda "Gives your Protege5 a deeper, sportier sounding exhaust note. Stainless steel construction".

talon- i got a nice letter and a survey from mazda. can you compete with that? ha ha! howcome you get the goodies and all i get is a frickin' survey? oh, and my touch up paint's gonna cost me $4! i think that should be free... re: the exhaust, do they list prices? is it mazda cert? (not voiding the warranty?)

Of course I can compete with that. I got that same survey about the dealer. I also got a survey with my "Welcome Package", asking what I thought of the "Welcome Package". I also got the Zoom-Zoom magazine an exclusive for Mazda owners. And a letter from Charles Hughes - President and CEO of Mazda North America, congratulating me on my new purchase. Finally, I got a card with my local dealerships hours and phone numbers. This was all inside a really nice folder that says MazdaTown on it.
I would assume everyone should have gotten this welcome package with the touch-up paint as it did come from Mazda. It was a big blue box.
And about the exhaust, no there was no price listed for it. I would also assume it would cause no problems with the warranty. It was on a brochure that had all the options for the P5 on it (ie. floor mats, MD player, etc.)

I got that little package... w/ my damn pamphlet of stuff... I EVEN GOT PRICES!!! HAHA HAHA HAHA... anway... the price on the exhaust is $220.00 bucks... dunno if its catback or not.. I dont think so.... as for who makes it... probably mazda, but they outsourced it to another company. dunno any other specs on it though... if its not catback get a Blitz N1 universal muffler and get some custom pipes... good shiat. anyway happy hunting.

Go to the dealer and ask (or demand) for touch up - all I had to do was ask.
BTW - the touch up paint sucks - far too thick to make a nice repair, especially on the metallic paints (Silver here). The junk looks like that crappy sparkle nail polish my lady wears - glitter in a way-too-clear base. Took three coats to cover the black primer in a stone chip I had, and there's no way to keep it level with the other paint. Thinning it just makes it worse, because there's not enough flake in it.
If you are really concerned, get a small conatiner from a body shop that can mix the right color. It'll work much better.
