It's a panasonic! I got a killer deal on a spiral dry cell battery from Blue. It is refurbished, but for the money you can't beat it! 1000 CCAs and the car just cranks right up like a champ! Couldn't be happier with a battery!

I'd have to agree the stock battery sucks. At night, with the lights on, all I got to do is turn the radio on(stock) an the lights dim. It also felt like it was gonna stall at times. I put a optima yellow top in replacement and haven't had a problem since.

I am still having dimming problems no thanks to the Class A amps. I am hoping that once I rewire 4 gauge wire from battery to alternator, my problems will disappate. I am not getting my hopes up though.

2002 LX with only 18K on it when the battery went south. Since the battery is only covered for the first 12K I had to pay half.

Oh I forgot...........Stock Stereo and I had never left any lights on to run it down overnight. Just crap batteries.

I've had mine for 4 years and 66k, and it shows no signs of slowing. My wifes XTerra battery just gave out at 70k.

the battery does suck. oh well I'd rather that than pay $100 more as the dealer sees it for a better battery from the start

1stHawiian, what I do or atleast try to do, is if listening to stereo at loud levels, I get about 5-10 mins. from my aptmnt and turn radio low or even off to allow battery to get recharged before cutting the car off. Also, at times, I will sit in the parking space and rev engine to 2000 rpms or let it idle for a couple of more minutes.

It's not a bad idea to turn your system down close to home anyway. Thay way no one near where you live will know you have a system and you're less likely to get it stolen! I would go with an Optima all the way. It will solve your problem for as long as you're likely to own your car. Well worth the extra $50 over a battery that will just die again in a couple of years. Not to mention that they're much more reliable on cold mornings for all of you northerners.

My 66 Mustang needed a new battery and the Mp5's stock battery fit perfectly. So I just had to get a new red top Optima for the MP5.

To see how it looks click on the link below.
