P5 Pedals On A DX?

I really like the aluminum pedals that come with the P5's. Especially the "dead pedal" on the far left.

Anyone know if I can swap my DX pedals some how for the P5's? Are they pedal covers or actually new pedals?

Thanks!

I believe they are just covers, but they will fit

My loaded 2003 P5 did not come with aluminum pedal covers... I believe that you are thinking of the MP3 or MSP. These are available as dealer accessories, but be forewarned - they are EXPENSIVE.

IMO, you are better off getting some high quality aftermarket ones from Sparco or some other company. Unfortunately, all of the ones that I have seen are merely covers, with tangs that hold the cover over the OEM (rubber) cover. This means, that you will see the rubber pads through whatever holes, etc there are on your aluminum ones.

As you are an autocrosser, you may want to consider that the aluminum pedal pads may be slicker than the rubber ones on the bottom of your shoes.

Hmmmm.....maybe I'm thinking of the wrong car. The one I'm thinking of came with a big silver "dead pedal". Do the P5's just have a carpeted dead pedal with a vinyl insert? (that's what I have now)

I guess I was just trying to find something that would keep me from wearing out the carpet/vinyl dead pedal. That's what I use to brace myself in the corners while I'm autocrossing.

Yes, mine is just a piece of vinyl embedded into the carpet. You can buy the aluminum dead pedal as a dealer accessory. I almost bought one in Japan, along with the aluminum pedal covers, until I saw the price. It was like 15400 yen for the dead pedal alone, which works out to about $138. The pedals themselves were about another eighty bucks on top of that, if I recall. But that's Japan, where prices are a bit crazy in general. Call your dealership to see what those items cost here.
