p5 swap
hey guys and girls im new here from ohio the cincinnati area just wanted to say hey and ask a few questions. I have a 2002 Mazda p5 and have been wondering what possiable engine swaps are that do now require much if any fabrication. Anither question is their any diffrence between the mp3 motor and the p5 motor if so what what? Thanks

Yeah, searching will help. In quick I'll tell you thier are little to no easy swap options and the only difference between the MP3 and P5 is the ECU, exhaust, and either VICS or VCTS-less(can never remember which) intake manifold. The actual engines are the same 16 valve 2.0 liter engines.

WOMP is a supercharger that our friend Roddimus Prime a.k.a. Matty is in the process of developing. Read this https://www.mazda3club.com/3rd-gen-engine-drivetrain-57/w-o-m-p-info-only-thread-39680/

Whole engine swaps are not really helpful just for performance, but for uniqueness you might want to think about getting a KL-ZE. That should be a pretty easy swap into a 3rd gen. I'm not sure anyone has done it yet, but I've read a lot of conversations where they say it should be as simple as swapping one into a 1st or 2nd gen.
