Paid off my Protege!

Paid off my Protege!
it has taken 30 months of $$ saving, but tonight I have finally done it. I just sent out the last payment check for my Protege!
even though my checking acct will be 1/2 of what it is now once they cashed the check, but now I can finally say I OWN (completely!) 2 cars without fearing creditors come repossessing my car!
what a great feeling

and to celebrate this great occasion, I will quote a piece of lyric from the Notorious B.I.G.
Hypnotize
"...At last, a ***** rappin bout blunts and broads
**** and bras, menage-a-tois, sex in expensive cars
I still leave you on the pavement
Condo paid for, no car payment
At my arraignment, note for the plantiff
Your daughter's tied up in a Brooklyn basement (shhh)
Face it, not guilty, that's how I stay filthy (not guilty)
Richer than Richie, till you ****** come and get me
[chorus]
Biggie Biggie Biggie can't you see
Sometimes your words just hypnotize me
And I just love your flashy ways
Guess that's why they broke, and you're so paid
[/chorus]"

Feels pretty good, doesn´t it?
Nothing like being able to say "I own a Protege", and really mean it.
It took me about 12 months to pay for mine. But that´s because I had about $3,000 that I put down, plus about $6,000 that I got when I sold a ´94 Civic. I also would make extra payments every single chance I got (Christmas bonus, etc. would all go to payments)
Now... if I could also say that about my house, I would be a very happy man (I accept donations).

Awesome! Congrats!
I hope to be able to get mine either paid off, or mostly paid off when we sell my grandma's house this year. She left it to us in 1/3rds and I'm not sure how much it's worth. (OKC-small house)
I would love to have at least 1 car paid off, because our other car is through Ford Credit and is minimal, as far as payments go!

Well, I just recieved my first statement. I can't express my "happiness".
On a side note, since I have 0% APR, what happens if I pay more than what the statement says. Say I pay $500 every month, instead of $300

42 months on my car and van 98 Voyager familly mobile and my 01 Pro! I bought my van New in 98 and due to refinancing all the time, I still owe another 3 years after the first 5 have past. Then again at the ripe old age of 29, I have owned
1)1979 Ford Granada-inherited!
2)1987 Ford Tempo (Worst piece of crap I ever owned!
3)1997 Ford Escort Lx wagon (First familly wagon)
4)1993 Geo Storm -Very cute little car
5)1994 Saturn SC2 coupe (Very reliable, but no air and only 4 seats
6)1998 Plymouth Voyager -Still have, love the room!
7)1998 Merc Mystique GS sport- Loved the car, all the problems of a Ford Focus! Just goes to show that Ford never thought much about fixing their problems.
8)2001 Cavalier, Got a great price and trade in when traded. Very unreliable car!!!!!!
9)2001 Pro. 1.6L Bought it used, 20000kms of my own and I love it so far. Knock on wood!! Zoom Zoom!
I guess I got a little off topic!

But why would you want to do that if you have 0% APR? Put the extra money that you have in the bank or some funds that gives you interest.

He want´s to do that, so that when the interests do kick in, they will be based on a lower principal. Remember that the interest you pay on loans will ALWAYS be higher than whatever miserable interest you get on savings.

But of course, I might be wrong...
