Performance Upgrading

Performance Upgrading
I need to know what my best bet is for aftermarket CAI and exhaust/muffler.
I was looking at the K&N CAI, which seems cool. I have a K&N in my stock airbox right now, and it seems pretty solid.
However, my local parts guy swears by Injen.
Does anyone know what preforms better, or which way to go with this?
As well, would a no-name CAI work just as well, or do the brand name one's make a difference.
Same question for exhaust. I have heard good and bad things about the MazdaSpeed muffler. Is there a general opinion on the best one?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

u can use a k&n filter on ne of the CAI systems.
and imma stick with my stock mazdaspeed exhasut because... quite frankly... i hate the buzzzzzzz of all aftermarket systems.
im going for fast and quiet.
i already got illegal tint, and 12000K HID kit for the cops to pull me for.

It's actually an ES MPS.
So, no turbo or anything cool like that, haha.
I checked out the website, and there are some awesome deals, but I want to know if I would be better off with one brand over another.

By the way, kargoboy's stuff is great, and he is great to deal with.

I plan on modifying my car here soon, definently getting a K & N Air filter and I want to get a really good cold intake system, but not really sure of any good brands or if there is a really recomended brand at all. I want my car to be fast and quiet too, I want to get solid black rems to make my car just a little more stealthier.

kargoboy on this forum has the best intakes and exhausts right now. bang for the buck you can't go wrong with the thunder headers.
a little searching will answer all of your questions about which mods are most effective.
I've said it about a thousand times but the BEST way to modify your car is to have a clear cut idea of what your end product will be. Once you know what you want the finished car to look like you'll know what parts to buy to get there. If you don't you'll just end up wasting money.

I'll check out Gary's stuff to see what he has.
As well, could I just get off ebay (or make) a cheap intake tube, and then slap a K&N cone on the end? Or do the smooth pipes (brand name) work better?

I don't really have a site. I mean, I have one (westimportsonline.com) but it's under construction.
Anyway, I'm a Mazda community member and supporter first, and a vendor second.
I could never actually make a living on this forum, lol.
I have threads in the vendor section here and at msprotege. All the pics are on msprotege, though. My pics are exceed the max size here and I'm too stupid to know how to shrink them all.
The intakes are getting air-freighted this week.
