Piping Difference?

Ok so pretty much
MP3 = racing beat exhaust which is a cat back
Mazdaspeed = Axle back exhaust that will fit on my sedan
Now, if I but the whole exhaust of a used mazdaspeed, the only thing that will fit will be the axle back exhaust, and maybe the resonator...that means the exhaust off a mazdaspeed is 2 pieces.... muffler, and resonator that connects to s pipe
Now, mp3 used exhaust contains three pieces resonator , s pipe and muffler and non are connected right?
Lastly is my LX PIPING bigger or smaller than a full mazdaspeed exhaust? will the whole exhaust even fit or just the muffler

I am an owner of an MP3 the exhaust system that came w/my car is a 2.25" axle-back. that sytem was made by racing beat. There are multiple cat-back systems out there that are made for the protege and are bolt-on. Apexi-N1, Magnaflow, Borla, Mazdaspeed, Ractive, and more. Yes, MAZDASPEED does make a cat-back system on for the protege and it will bolt on to the protege fine. I hope that helps you

Yes and No mazdaspeed's have the cat-back exhaust system and Axle back I believe the axle back was used on the first Mazdaspeed Proteges built. (don't quote me on that, I think that is right), the MP3's only have the axle-back.
