Question Potential Buyer

Hey all - I'm looking into buying a 2003 P5, and I've looked at 2 so far. I was wondering if anyone can give suggestions on what to look for on these cars. For instance, the one I saw at a local dealer had slightly rusted rotors, which I hear can be a problem. Anything else specific to check?

I really like the P5's ... definitely getting one. Both I've looked at so far have been red with the sportshift/auto setup.

Thanks!

Also, forgot to mention, getting my mountain and road bikes on the roof is a must. I heard the factory rack is pretty useless for this. Any suggestions about racks are also welcome

The rotors will build up some rust when the car is sitting for a while. It goes away when you start driving the car and make a few stops. So no worries there.

I would suggest getting the manual tranny, but that's just me! Can't help you with the bike rack...it just doesn't apply to me

You will love the car, but get the manual, it'll just add to the fun--as for the bike rack, I guess I'm with Phantom on that one: if my car can't get me there, I just won't be going!

Hehe - the only ones I've seen around here have been autos. I'm looking for a manual, but have yet to find one.

yeah, THUEL makes a nice P5 rack. I think someone on another forum was selling one.

5spds are MUCH more enjoyable and worth the extra wait while you find a nice one.

Update: Got tired of looking at P5's, and instead I just drove home a brand new Mazda3 - black leather, moonroof, and all that jazz. Winning Blue.

Thanks for the advice anyway.
