Problem list

Not trying to be negative, but here's a list of the problems I've had with my P5. These are admittedly very small issues, but that just shows the amazing overall quality of the Protege. Maybe someone has experience and/or solutions to them.

1. Sunroof: rattle inside switch area when going over rough/bumpy roads.

2. Driver's mirror: this seems fairly common. The mirror vibrates and blurs the view at highway speeds.

3. Stereo display cover: not sticking completely, lifts on right side.

4. Speakers: buzz a lot when music volume/bass is high. Probably just crappy speakers - the solution is obvious.

Yes, very minor complaints. Has anyone had any other problems? I've looked into recalls and there hasn't been any for 2002 yet.

1. I have had rattling from my sunroof.
2. My drivers mirro vibrates wildly at speed, so I just use the middle mount one to identify cars behind me, and my drivers side mirror only to check for cars along side me.
3. What are you referring to by the "Stereo Display Cover"? When I picked up my Protege, the radio had a static cling plastic film covering the display. If this is what you are referring to, it is made to come off. It is there to prevent scratching durring transport.
4. My speakers don't show any buzzing, untill I turn the radio as loud as it will go, but then it's too loud to recognize anything anyway.

The speaker noise is probably a combination of low quality speakers, and a low quality amp in the stock stereo. I haven't experienced any of the other problems...

njaremka:

3. I removed the static cover, the cover I'm talking about is the hard clear plastic piece that covers the display itself. I was able to stick it back on so it's not really a big deal.

Was the dealer able to fix your sunroof rattle? I'm going to have them look at main at the first scheduled maintenance.

Thumbs down Warranty on P5...

I also have some problems with my new P5.

1. It pulls to the right (just an alignment problem)

2. My front doors are hard to close (rear close fine)

3. Air whistle through the front windshield (somewhere in the dash)

4. Air turbulence on the rear windows

5. My dealer prep-guy scratched my shifter bezel and nick the leather on the steering wheel

6. MPG seems to be going down every tank full (first tank gave me 400 miles, 2nd tank 375, 3rd tank 355. Iam afraid to look at the trip meter for the 4th tank

Wao, don't get me wrong I'am not , I love this car.
