Protege Down!

Well, my Protege lost power while driving the other day. Had to be boosted 4 times on the way home to make it.

Any ideas what the problem is here? I'm thinking battery or alternator, but it could be something else. Wont even start now.

Anyone else have this problem, I'm about ready to bring it to the shop.

Driving my backup for now, bone stock G5 Pursuit, heh. Not much for features, but makes me sad that it's faster than the MPS.

Check the alternator fuse, too. I just had a VERY similar problem with another car. The battery and alternator were fine but the system wasn't charging because the alternator fuse was blown.

Nope, not that either. Brought to shop for tests, Alt failed it's charge test. Too bad, thats a pricey part, heh.

Could anything else besides the Alt being garbage cause that? I'd hate to replace the Alt if it's just a small problem causing it to fail.
