thats why it's not a wagon but a hatchback.

To me a hatchback has 2 doors and a wagon has 4. I think hatchbacks are ugly and wagons are for older people with families. The P5 is the best looking wagon I have seen though.
One thing I don't like is coupes made from sedans. Like civics, cavaliers, and such. I prefer the 4 door sedan unless it is a true sports car like an rx-7, porches, and cars like that.

I bought my sedan because of 2 things.
They are:
- not a hatch.
I have owned hatches in the past and both of them got broken into and everything taken. Just a preferance, but never again. They can't steal what they can't see.
- cheaper.
It was cheaper to buy the sedan over the hatch, and also it was $2-300 cheaper to licence.
If there was a 2 door that is what I would have bought over the sedan, but alas they don't make one.

Rounded off front end with a chiseled body everywhere else. Looks like a little girl smiling or something to me. The MP3/Protege5's front end however look great. Not as girly, and real agressive.

Mazda Protege5, Ford SVT Focus ZX5, Audi RS4, RS6 Avant, Subaru WRX wagon, BMW 540i wagon. All of these are wagons are sporty and fun to drive. The latter can even haul a load of a@#. I think you'll be hard pressed to find wagons resembling ones of yesteryear these days.

The ZX5 is not a wagon, even though it has four doors. it is the exact same size as the ZX3, inside and out, there's just an extra door stuck on each side of it. There are seperate models of the Focus which ARE station wagons. They have the flat roof (not curved like the ZX3/5/SVT) and a rectangular back end. They are also really ugly, unlike the ZX3/5/SVT.
The ZX5 is distinctly different from the wagon models. In the case of the Focus, it seems to be an exception to the rule.

What pics are you looking at. The sedan isnt ugly the only ugly cars i see are non-mazdas. Yeah the MP3 & P5 are more noticed cause they were designed that way. But in my opinion you take the front bumper off them and put it on a sedan your set!

I like the looks of the Protege sedans. I think they look better than some of the other econo-sedans out there. It certainly looks better than the Spectra, Aerio, Lancer, Neon, and Civic. It may be one of the older designs still being used in this class of cars, but it still stands out. I'll admit that the Pippi Longstocking smile of the Protege sedans as of late are looking a bit weird. But I would still take the Mazda over the others.

Let's seriously stop this, I mean we are all here for one simple reason, we either love mazdas or we just have a mazda. Of course everyone has different opinions and that's ok. But just please don't say that the 99 sedans are ugly or so. I mean think about it the 99's are about 200 pounds lighter. Every car has it's disadvantages and advantages. In my opinion I love the MP3, I think its an awesome car, I definitely love the miatas, MX3, the P5 and the new Mazdaspeed, I simply love every mazda. So let's all be nice to each other. By the way what is this website called? protegeclub.com, so we all are together, every mazda was built by the same company, we are here to help each other out.
