Protege vs. Protege5

Which one is better to buy? Or which one is better to buy with automatic transmission? And manual?

Both are the same, mechanically. Same motor, transmission...etc. It all comes down to styling preference

Auto or Manual, again, your call.

Doesn't one of them have more room, or its more comforable?

no, passenger space-wise the sedan and the wagon are the same

ok maybe the P5 has more headroom for the rear passengers

everything backseat-and-forward is identical between the sedan and the wagon.

wagon is generally more flexible in terms of space usage. flip down the backseat of the P5 and you get a huge unobstructed cargo space.

Now, how is anyone here supposed to know how you define 'better'? The Protege is a sedan, comes in a few trim/equipment levels. The Protege5 is a hatchback, comes fully equipped.
Suggest you do a few minutes of your own research on the Mazda website, to get details on the differences, and see and drive both cars at a dealership, help you decide what is 'better' for you.

no not really, it's the same suspension setup as the sedan....

except that silly strut tower bar, which only sharpens up the steering slightly....

Wagon or Sedan

Protege Sedan:
Stiffer in the rear and that is why the P5 has some extra parts
quieter
manual antenna that looks awful

P5 ....
it is a wagon .... sportier look .... bumpers are nicer
has nicer looking antenna
more road noise from the hatch
more blind spots

Other than that they are exactly the same.

because they come equipped with fancy front air dam/fog lights and side/rear skirts...

take a look at non-US P5s that doesn't have all the body kits and tell me which one you like better then.

hmmmm these topic are very tedious. First off Welcome Haris, and secondly, what is it you want? Both cars are basically the same, now it all depends if you want a car that can carry more stuff or not. You want a hatchback/wagon or a sedan, that is the question you should be asking yourself. If price is involved (i assume it is) then go for the sedan, it's cheaper. If you have more cash to spend go for the wagon.

In my opinion the only way to go is with the p5, if you can afford the extra cash. To me it looks better, has more room, and there are less of them on the road, alittle more original.

That's funny.
