Protege5 Quality poll results
Well, this is really encouraging, 36 replies and only 3 vehicles with issues, thats a %92 satisfaction rate. It is too bad the problems were not all listed (poor paint quality was the only one listed along with windshield noise at 75mph). I could not find any major issues listed. But also one should consider that the P5 has only been around for a short while.
If it makes you guys feel any better, I listed a similar poll on the Subaru Impreza forum and the post was deleted . I rolled back on the history to find a similar poll, 5 problems out of 107 %95.
But the problems were things like, clutch breakdown, transmission breakdown, rattling panels and paint. Also there were messages in the forum about people filing for a class action law suit for faulty transmission. The service satisfaction was not high, looking at the messages. Funny, both the Impreza and the P5 are listed as very reliable cars.
It was down to the Impreza and Protege5 but I am gonna get the Protege5, it has a little bit more cargo space and seems more reliable. My test drive on the Protege5 was much better and the interior was top notch. Plus it was cheaper.
Thanks for all the Info guys, long live the Internet. This is how I buy cars from now on.

Actually the protege 5 has been out for a few years in Japan. It was just introduced in late 2001 as a 2002 model year.
I was also interested in the Impreza, until I found out how much space was available in the rear seating. I have had the P5 for approximately 4 months and enjoying every minute of it.
