protege5 question

hello....newbie here
i'm considering buying the protege5
but i'm wondering the modability of the car
how much gain will i expect from cai+header+catback?
also what's the differecne between protege5 n mp3 engine wise
besides one is 130 n 140
is it possible to make the protege5 go mid15's in 1/4mile
low to mid 8's in 0-60mph
also the handling?
i'm driving acura 1.6el which is basically a 4door civic with the sohc vtec engine with a different body
i have springs/shocks/struts/sways on the car, n it handle quite nicely
can i make it happen in the protege5? being a wagon n all
thank you for answering my many questions in advance...

Hey there! Hope you choose the P5! Anyway, for all your questions, you should try the search function. I know we've talked about a lot of those subjects before, and this would let you read everything that's been posted, and not just what someone wants you to know. I suggest trying that first, and then if you still need help, post again. Worked for me! Good luck!

You can search & find a ton of that info but while Im typing, I'll reply to a few things. The Pro5 already handles great. It comes stock with an upper tower strut bar & you can do some other suspension/handling things (rear swar bar, etc). CAI/Header/Exhaust wise, its also hard to say. You're not going to see much with just the CAI but add the header & exhaust, & you will. One company says they have gotten 21HP gains with their header, high flow cat & cat back exhaust they designed (and sell for 1400.00) and this would probably be accurate in that set up most of the time. Just the CAI & exhaust added a decent amount of power to my Pro5 but I havent dynoed so I cant say how much. I would say at least 10 or 12 but again, thats just me guessing. Enough to really feel it driving. Thats a good set up but right now, you dont have a lot of header choices. Suspension wise, you can plenty of lowering options. Eibach, Ground Control, Skunk2, Intrax I think has one, H&R, Tri-Point & a few others have true racing coil overs. So, you've got your lowering covered. But, strut wise, not much yet. I've seen 2 adjustable struts that are over priced (but should be good) and Koni should have struts available soon (that would be your best buy). All in all, do the Pro5!!! Its a great car & has potential. Oh, and the difference betwee the MP3 & Pro5 engine wise is mainly a different exhaust & a piggy back fuel computer.
