Quaife ATB or LSD. where too buy
Driving around with a turboed 2,0L DOCH on a FWD car when the roads are covered with ice 6 months of the year, are no fun.
So i registered here and started too search for info.
a search turned up a quadrillion matches, but i didnt really find much usable in the first 10 matches so i gave up (flame suit on)
My 88 626 Coupe (basicly a 1 st gen MX6 with a 148hp NA 2,0L DOCH motor) have a G type tranny wich i feel need a Quaife ATB or an LSD. (especially now, after i turboed it)
The problem are that the ATB are not aviable from Quaife anymore (USA and UK)
And Guru`s alternative for the 88-91 MX6/626/Probe turbo does only fit the H type tranny (wich i dont have or can find easyli)
Could you tell me where i can buy one, or an LSD from a Protege
i have been told that some Proteges was equipped with a G type tranny with an LSD, but have no confirmation.
Urls or other info would be great.
Finally i want too excuse my poor writing skills.
(this is not my first language)

Waitaminute! The roads here are no picnic, either. If all you are concerned about is traction in poor conditions, get a good set of winter tires. I don't think I would invest in a limited slip diff for my car unless the torque was higher than it is, and unless I was serious about heading to the track. As it is, torque steer is not a problem, and I spend more time dreaming about racing than actually doing it.

I dont have a FS engine, its the far more rugged FE DOHC.
But since both trannies are the G type, it should fit my stock tranny

I do also live in an montain area, with Pikes Peak like roads.

alright this is bugging me its DOHC(Dual Over Head Cam). Second an LSD just might be overkill cause instead of torque moving from a slipping wheel to the other called an open differential, an LSD locks the 2 wheels no matter what so cornering takes a hit there. Your choice though, to me $1200 seems a bit steep just to get around but i live in Nebraska not the mountains.

With the above mentioned FE DOHC (stock output 148hp) and a T28 sized Schwitzer turbocharger making 7,5 psi. i have buttloads of Torque from rpms as low as 1800 rpm. Im struggling even with tires who have won the latest 3 years winter tyre tests here in Scandinavia (Nokian Hakkapelita Q)

Another possibility is mazda3online.com (formerly protegegarage.com). I just found out today they are back in business, they list a Tochigi Fuji limited slip diff for $625. If I am reading the site correctly, this is the same diff used in the MSP. Go to their site, look up 99-03 Protege, then look under Mazda Performance Parts. The diff is on the second page.
