Questions about the options

Hello guys! Just bought my 03 Laser Blue P5 as well (few threads down), nice looking car! It's not hard at all to find this forum and joining the discussion. I have a few questions about the car. First of all, no one in town has the ABS with side airbag option, and the Electronic dimming review mirror. I'm just wondering if these two options can be installed later on by the service department. How about the tubro? Is that going to be the bolt on option later on as well?? Thanks for answering my questions!

ABS/Side Airbags: No
Mirror: Yes
Turbo: No

As of right now, there is no turbo package sold by Mazda. You do have a couple of options for aftermarket turbos, if you're really itching to void your warranty. Do a search on the board for it.

POMAN, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge's in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!! :{D

I'm having the optional rearview mirror installed Sat. I could probably do it myself, but they're doing it all for $250.00

Thanks guys for the reply. Oh well I guess my wife have to live without ABS then. The damn sales guy was trying to convince us that ABS was worthless, it's the same as press/depress the pedal yourself. I almost laugh out loud. I would like to have turbo for the PR5 but I read some of the threads last night and the stage 2 kit will only put about 210 crank/175 wheel. It's decent power but not really for 4500 bucks plus other upgrades, and it's for the manual only for now. The car handles fine as is and I'm pretty impressed compared to my modified Solara, except for power

Oh one question for you guys, what would be the max tire/rim size of 17" for the PR5. I have a spare set of Niche chrome Shock 17x7.5 225/45/17s for my Solara but would it fit the PR5?? Thanks!

Poman

p.s. Does anyone here from Florida? Orlando?

If your lug pattern on those wheels are 5x114.3 then yes they will fit. You will also have to find out the offset if it is greated then I think 48 then you will have to modify rear fender wheels.

Yup 5x114.3's the lug pattern for all Toyota, Nissan, Honda and Mazda. I believe the offset is either +45 or +43. So it will fit just fine. Great! Now I just have to convice her to change it over....I like the rims came with the car though. We almost got the polished wheel but it just doesn't look as nice as the chrome.

Apparently the +43 or +45 offset won't work with the P5's for a 7.5 inch rim. You need a LARGER positive offset, not smaller, or you will rub on the fenders. I am sure others will attest to that. Check out this thread:
