Radiator / Transmission Question

True or false, and I don't know here , but with a Automatic transmission. And I am talking about replacing a radiator is there any loss of Transmission fluid with this operation.

Cause I understand that when your changing the radiator, that a coolant flush is inorder. but is there anything to do with Transmission fluid here, cause i just came from mazda and this guy gave me a spin that is still leaving me dazed and confused.

will I lose transmission fluid durring this repair.

he told me that I will need Tranny fluid to top it up afterwards?

I scratch my head a few times and still am now.

ANyone?

Yes.transmission fluid is plumped through your rad to keep it cooler...auto tranny's generate too much heat so the fluid temp has to be maintained....removing the rad entails disconnecting transmission fluid lines...whats so confusing about that ?

there is a tranny cooler built into your radiator. to get your radiator out, you have to disconnect the two tranny fluid lines going into your radiator. one is to pump tranny fluid into the cooler, the other brings the fluid back into the tranny. if you go with an aftermarket radiator with no built in tranny cooler, then you have to get an auxiliary tranny cooler or else you'll fux0r3d your tranny.
