Well i wasnt sure what else to call it...

Does everyone have excessive amount of noise from the wet when it is raining, i have always had some in my cars and vans but this is really loud, like im missing something in the wheel well maybe or i could just be on glue

Let me know please

Mazda is notorious for lacking sound insulation material in the floor, particularly around the wheel wells. What model do you have? The Protege5 should be louder inside than the sedans, since the noise from the rear wheel wells are muffled by the trunk in the sedans. What tires are you running? Some tires will throw water out the sides while some tires will throw water up into the wheel wells.

You think a 98 Tercel is bad, you should try a 90 Miata with performance tires. I ended up stripping the interior & adding about 50 lbs worth of sound deadening mat. Undercoating the car will help in the road noise department. I'm planning on getting that done this week so I'll let everybody know how it goes.

Wasnt complaining was just asking a question!

I have no complaints about my car at all i was just asking. I expect exactly what i have from my car and enjoy it more every day, TheMAN sometimes people are just asking questions eh no offence

This is a $16000 car, not a $80000 mercedes. What do you expect? If I owned a $80000 mercedes and it had squeeks and road noise, I would complain. But on this cheap car, no.

well you better start sharing...or I am going to tell your mommy!! lol

and I have another solution...yeah I know most of you don't have this option....but I just never heard that noise before....not because I use the volume **** to excess...but because I have never driven my car in the rain....if its raining out....I drive my truck...the P-5 stays in the garage.....if there is a high chance of rain...the P-5 stays in the garage.... :{D works for me!!

and Edwin...our cars are NOT cheap....INEXPENSIVE yes....cheap NO. :{D

the paint might run off sucky-@ss mazda paint!

yeah, i hear the rain, right before i turn up my sounds. then for some mysterious reason, i don't hear the rain anymore...

cheap? no. inexpensive? hardly. i dished $23k for my p5. of course compared to that $80k mercedes, then yeah sure it's "cheap". but if anyone here has $16k-$23k just lyin' around the house, let's be friends!

I've driven mine in the rain couple times and I don't find it noisy. I don't know but I heard the P5 has extra insulation in the hatch area.

Compare to the 2001 Acura EL I had (dressed up Civic EX for you guys south of the border) the P5 has a quiet interior!

I don't...because I don't HAVE TO....I have my work truck for that...

this way...My P-5 stays nice and clean for the most part...at least in all those hard to get at places...and under the hood where you get all that road dirt that is a bitch to clean out....

that is why! lol
