are you joking ?? If anything the 1.6L had less problems and is a tougher engine than the 2.0L..The only recall on the 1.6L or TSB was the MAF...MIne has 70,000 and has been FLAWLESS and I beat the hell out of it...The only real swap is the 2.0L..it is soooo not cost effective and will not take as much abuse from boost or N20 as the 1.6L will...also please be more descriptive with thread titles

I gotta a 1.6 here and I beat the crap out of it and I have no rants whatsoever 50k miles too, hes prob one of them people that brings his car to jiffy lube for fluid changes and dont know a dime about anything automotive. He said that you would need alternations to the engine space WTF????? I think that you could pretty much interchange any of the three engines if you have the money, and time. Unless you plan on swapping a v8 in there I think the engine space will stay pretty much the same. Sorry about all the flaming but its called for.

the thing is my car has been sitting for 3 months. the title came in, i got it transfered. and started driving. got in a mini race off south alpine and the motor hesitated and then started clanking on the right side.(when your sitting in the drivers side) im not a car junky or genious im fckn 16 i dont know much. but doing simple things like changing the oil and examining it. i found metal scraps. 1.6l huh? did my own projects and also steamed the engine. not carbon build up. took of the cams and damn its dury as hell.
ima be honest i need help!!!
