you can most likely get a HANES manual at your local pep boys or canadiantire... or just go to mazda and you can buy their service manual as well..... I have the manual on CD.. if you would like a copy, you can PM me and i can send it to you via messenger (too big for email)

manual for the regular Protege will tell you almost everything you need to know to maintain a P5. The newest edition of the manual covers the 99+ models. The only significant difference that you will probably have to deal with is removal of the strut brace for certain engine maintenance tasks, and a different procedure to access the tops of the rear struts.
