reversing shifts on the new autostick

check that page out guys. from what i understood by using an online translator is that the guy switched the wires so the tranny shifts down when you pull the stick down and up when you push it up as opposed to stock being move-up to down shift and move-down to shift up. this is for the new autostick proteges. use an online translator to read the page.

I guess if the damn thing was lit at night (like the other indicators are,) I wouldn't have a problem with it. Anyone mod this yet (light the +/- indicators??)

Um, "TheMAN," when I pull the shifter back it shifts up, i.e., pull back to go from 1 to 2 to 3, etc., and when you push it forward it shifts down, isn't that what all of our US spec cars are like? Why is it different than the mod on the Japanese site? Sounds the same to me. Confuzzed.

The US version's shifter is already reversed like what that mod would do. If we did the same proceedure that guy did, we would end up with what he had stock!

See, that is what I am hung up on, it seems to me by the first post there that they do not start off opposite. He MODDED it so that the tranny shifts DOWN when you pull the stick DOWN...Thus meaning that before the mod (stock) he shifted UP by pulling the stick DOWN. Our cars, stock, are set up so that you shift UP by pulling DOWN on the stick...same as the Japan stock. He modded it to shift down by pulling down, we would have to mod it to get the same effect.
I wonder if the confusion here is the definition of "pulling" the lever "up or down?" When I say pulling the stick UP, I mean toward the dash, when I say pulling it down, I mean toward the rear of the car. Is that what is the hangup, cause I thing that is what the original post meant? The mod is so that when you push the lever toward the dash you shift up, when you pull toward the rear you shift down...opposite US stock, and thus, Japan Stock is the same as US stock. Oh well, my head hurts.

Exactly what you said where? I read everything you said, I just don't agree, I guess is what it comes down to. I just think this statement may be incorrect, that is where the confusion comes from:
Nevermind, it doesn't matter, I am not going to start messing with the tranny anyway. Thanks.
