Rust proof

I live in Toronto, where road salt is as common as snow in Buffalo, so I thought about getting my car rust proofed with a company called Krown. Does anyone have any experiences with rust proofing, does it help? My main question though is: Is it worth getting if I'm only going to keep the car for another 4 maximum 5 years (though 4 is more likely)?

Thanks for the help guys.

i believe you have a 5 year 60k mile anti-perforation(rust) warranty from the factory here in the states. i do not know about canada, check your warranty owners manual

In Cleveland, we use salt all winter, too. My (unrustproofed) '93 Pro started showing signs of rust after 6 or 7 years on certain parts of the body. It seems like the worst parts are the parts around the doors, where it is painted with the flat black paint instead of the body color.

Now, there may have been some improvements since '93. And for sure, I didn't keep that car clean at all. The salt built up pretty much all winter.

So you should be able to get 4 or 5 rust free years out of your bodywork without extra treatment. Maybe wash it every couple of weeks, especially when the salt is bad.
