Shocking!
#17
I live in a warm and humid climate (on a mediterranean island) and still get the shocks now and then... mind you it happens whenever I am wearing my wool Jacket ... Which I assume rubs against the seat cloth and builds up static elec.
I do the elbow discharge too... it works

lol
i get this same shock all the time too and boy do i hate it!
sometimes i actually see the white spark of the electricity that connects the car door with my finger.
when this first happened to me i was shocked (lol, obviously) and surprised.
like why the hell did that happen.
then i realise that it kept on happenin' so i always anticipated it, but then again sometimes i would forget that i'd get shock when i get out of the car.
i guess i'll have to try the elbow thing.

Yeah, the same thing happens to me almost ALL the time. Sometimes it's more painful than others. the trick is to hold onto the door frame and have one foot out on the ground while getting out. Until both feet are planted on the pavement, don't remove your hand (or elbow) or else you'll get shocked. I think it also might have something to do with the person. Weirdest thing I found out at work the other day- a normal person has a resistance of about a few megaohms. I was using a multimeter to diagnose something else, and I just happened to touch both probes and found that my resistance is in the hundreds of kOhms. I guess I'm just more conducting

Actually, come to think of it, this only started happening to me a while after I installed and amplifier under my car seat...didn't used to happen before...you guys think this may have anything to do with it?
