Slight vibration/shaking...is this normal?

I just picked up my p5. I have put about 15 miles on the car, and I noticed that on regular cruising, on roads that are generally smooth, there seems to be a slightly vibration/shaking comin from the suspension, tires or something of that nature. Is that a normal feel for this car due to the sportiness?

Im just curious because although I knew that the suspension may be a bit firm, I did not expect the ride that I am getting now.

I checked the tire pressure as soon as I left, and it was @ 38 psi. I lowered it down to about 33 psi, and it felt slightly better, although there was still a slight vibration/shaking.

Im thinkin that either I am too picky with my car because it is new, something is wrong, or maybe the car is too fresh and new and needs to be broken in a bit, such as the tires, etc.

Comments, and help is greatly appreciated!

TIA.

I'd say its prolly just the tread of the tire getting even'd out. I could be wrong tho of course. Happened on my Cav.

Thats what I was thinking, and I hope it is, cuz I love this car, and I hate having to think about little things like this.

Anyone else with any ideas?

mp5driver, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

my p-5 was as smoothe as silk from the day I brought it home....I wouldn't wait to long to take it back to the dealer...and put the service manager in the car with you and take him for a ride....and SHOW him what it is doing....that way there is no question....they can't go take it for a ride and bring it back and tell you its not doing anything.

your tires might not be balanced right.

Welcome to the club MP5Driver13

I was just wondering; Did you feel it when you test drove the car?

LAst time I looked at my tires and put air in them they are supposed to have close to 50psi in them not 33psi. You are going to ruin your tires if you run them that low.

What tires are you running with 50 psi? The stock tires should be run with 32. Check the sticker on the inside of the driver's door.

check the rating on the tire not the inside of the door, that is on theree to make for a more comfortable ride

No, the tires might be able to hold 50 psi for some applications. But given the weight of your car and other factors the manufacturer sets the proper pressure. Which in the case of the P5 is 32 psi. You're going to blow your tires at 50.

so when I run my 17's I shouldrun 32 psi even though the tire states 50psi? The car manufacturer does what makes for a comfortable ride, the tire manufacturer gives what the tire is designed for. I have been running about 45psi for over a year and have had NO problems and tires are wearing very very well for the abuse I put them through. Hell when i got it from the dealership it was prepped with over 40psi.

I was refering to the stock tires. But still I would run them at near the minimum it says on the tire. Unless you are really weighed down.
