SP20 - Turboo

Hey all,

I'm from Australia. I own a Mazda Protege SP20. Now I know they released a Turbo version of my car in the US but never brought it over to Australia.

Does any1 know how much (US or AUS) is cost for the either Protege turbo or the whole US Turbo Engine for the SP20?

Does any1 actually import them over here? Thanks for your help.

I'm sure the engine would be damn spendy..... You'd almost be better off going with an aftermarket kit.. and there are several vendors who offer them.... www.hiboost.com, www.wagnermotorsports.net, and various others. The version here was from the 130 hp motor, not the 170 hp motor brought to europe and maybe even you... the turbo version here is rated at 170 hp.. and if you have the na 170 hp motor.. what's the point? Check the vendor section and do a search.. and you'll find a plethora of knowledge about it.

you cannot get the turbo engine, or any of its components....

mazda wont give them out to anyone

if someone ruins a turbo engine, then for them to get a new turbo engine, they are required to send back the core of the broken engine, and only then mazda will send them a new turbo engine.....

i geuss the only way to get a turbo engine would be if you have some connections deep inside mazda

Callaway sux ! The msp turbo system has to be one of the worst i've seen developed for the 2.0L, and it's factory backed!! How shi**y is that ? They should've contacted Bell Engineering. Corky knows him some Mazda's!!

my opinion...buy a protege or p5...spend an extra 4K for the hiboost...still have $$ left over from not buying a msp, and have a msp killer.
