Oh, I understand that Cooper's a hatch, it's just that I envisioned people opening up the back, and still couldn't figure out where you could fit two tennis racket bags per say..... Or a 15" Computer Monitor..... or a spare tire....

I actually saw a Cooper today... DAMN nice car. The S is something I'll definately look at. Good power, great interior, doesn't take much to swap pullies on a supercharger.
My buddy will sell the neon, but its still a neon. (personal taste thing) Dont like Nissan, the 3 will be cool if they don't limit them to 2 per dealer, I initally was waiting for the SVT but took too long so we got the P5, still a car I like though. But if you get the cold weather pkg. you cant defeat it completely. Up for a new second car soon so we'll see.

I would actually strongly consider a Cooper if I had to change cars right now. Gas mileage means a lot to me, and it seems that that car would get a great one, while still offering somewhat of a performance. Just not sure about space, I mean it's small, etc. but there's a line to just how small of a car I could take.....

So one of my customers is in today with his son. Works @ Calgary BMW as a salesperson(pc) The Mini is still across the street so I mention it to him and he runs out to take a look?? Seems they have to build a Mini dealership to sell the cars (Calgary at least), starting now, wont be ready till December! I think I'd just go to Vancouver.

Since I'm too lazy to quote all the above responses, you'll just have to try to follow along.
The Neon is, according to Dodge, rated at 205hp. Tons of torque though. And almost 3k lbs. 0-60 in 5.9 sec (according to DC), but NO LSD. So, no drag racing in your MSPro, but it will likely get it's butt kicked on an autocross course.
The Mini in LA only has a $2500-$4000 markup, and you can get one right away if you are not choosy. The S-model has a very long waiting list. The dealers I went to were taking $1k deposits to be put on the waiting list. They wouldn't give me a price. On the base car, the spare is under the rear, like a pick-up, even when you get the optional 16" tires, which are run-flats. The S has no spare--the battery is in the rear where a spare would be...there's no room under the hood for the battery, due to the S/C. But the Mini also has a lot of things not available on any of the other cars- HIDs, stability control, heated seats, auto climate control, leather, etc.
Subaru recognized the potential for gouging, so at first, you bought your WRX from the factory. People that got gouged didn't do their research. You can now buy them for under list in many places.
And I really don't understand $5k over list on an MP3. The MP3 is a great $19k car, but there are better $24k cars (such as the WRX). Hopefully the dealers won't do that to the MSPro.
The VWs are nice if a little front heavy, and soft from the factory. And still no LSD. But a great road car. The 337 looks fun. Probably a close performance match for the MSPro.

For strictly performance and not quality, you can't beat the NEON ACR. Check out the latest issue of Grassroots Motorsports if you don't believe or talk to anyone who is really active in the SCCA and they will tell you the same thing.
Grassroots said that the MP3 would be a definite competitor to the ACR if it had more power. The Golf GTI did very well also.
My vote is for the MAzdaspeed protege b/c performancewise it will be comparable to all the others, but its soundsystem is what convinced me.
