Sport Suspension??!!
lol, I just got off the phone with Marina Motors in Capitola.
My brake light is coming on, so I decided to do it right and get a set of OEM pads for my P5, since it's nice to have all new hardware too. I called Marina and asked for a set of front pads for my Protege5.
The guy came back on the line and asked which suspension it has and what year the car is.
I said
"uh...Protege5. 2002.".
Him: "Sport suspension?"
Me: "uh...Not a Mazdaspeed. A Protege5"
Bonehead: " Does it have sport suspension? Some have sport suspension and bigger brakes"
Me: "....A Protege5? They're all the same as far as the brakes and suspension goes"
Moron: "You're wrong. I'm looking at the parts catalog right now"
Me, getting scared: "I gotta go. kthnxbye"
I decided that I had a 50/50 chance of getting the right parts for my car from this genius, so I called Malloy Mazda, who has a great rep with the RX-7 guys.
Anyway, just wanted to share. If you're in the Bay Area, look out for those guys at Marina. They used to have their act together much more, but in the last year or so, I've noticed a lot of new, not-so-helpful people working there. lol, what if I was some random dummy? I'd be paying those guys to put wrong part put into my car.
