Sport20 Tuned-up 0-400, 0-60MPH data
I was looking for some performance data for my Sport20 after someone asked me in another thread and found the following for the Autoexe tuned up version automatic. It is almost identical to what I have except it has a better exhaust manifold delivering 6-7 more HP. The rest is identical (Autoexe Muffler, K&N intake, Yokohama DNA GP tires) except for the manual transmission in my case.
That Sport20 car delivers 187 HP and can do 1/4 mile (0-400m) in 16.5 seconds. It also does 0-60 mph in 8.7 seconds.
So you can use these numbers to compare your cars.
Here is the pic of this Sport20:

Yeah, it has some nice HP numbers for a N/A engine, but 16 seconds is NOT a fast 1/4 mile time. I'll stick with my MSP thanks.
Also: I like the north american front bumper more, it's more clean in my opinion.

I think the MSP has like 21 Kg.m of torque vs 18.8 for the stock Sport-20. A WRX STI has 35 to give u an idea.
So it is clear it can accelerate faster probably. Did you try to bring it over 210 km/h? How was the rev meter at that speed?
For 1/4 miles comparison:
Toyota Supra Twin Turbo: 13.8 seconds
Nissan Skyline GT-R: 13.7 sec
Honda NSX : 13.5 sec
Honda S2000: 14.0 sec
The S2000 takes the cake maybe as it has a 4 cylinders engine vs V6 for the others.

I will take my Sport20 to the track also next month. I decided to take driving lessons at the Tsukuba Circuit not far from Tokyo. It is cool since it is a real circuit and we can run against the clock with our own car. The circuit has a lot of curves, so the Sport20 AWD should handle it well. In the top 10, there were no GTR or Supra, but a lot of HondaS2000. A CRX took the 21st spot while a Porsche 911 got the best time. so lighter cars have the edge in that circuit.
I will post a video for you guys ;-)

I think that I can better that. We will see in a week or 2.

Yeah really. If you brought a 16s car to the local track around here you'd get your *** laughed off the track! I live in central Florida, people there drive 10 second GNXes as daily drivers, kid.

I am getting these numbers from Sport Compact Car magazine which is ultra fair about numbers, I know some members can claim faster times, but these are averages;

The final generation Skyline GT-Rs were heavy as hell and were slow on the track. Even the twin turboed I6 couldn't pull that massive drivetrain and body down the track very well stock. Modified, yes, then you have a nice drag car. The same goes for the Supra TT. While everyone pees their pants over a modded Supra (it has a very very nice engine, it can put up with serious abuse) the stock form wasn't all that shocking performance wise. The S2000 gets it's power from the insane compression, that's why the supercharged S2000s you see poping up are only running on like 5psi of boost.
That Sport20 you posted uses the automatic (AUTOTRAGIC) tranny off a standard P5. That's the big performance killer right there.
Honestly, remember in that other thread about you not getting the term "American Muscle"? You can kind of see it when you look at it this way; We get cars that run 14s stock every year that are no big deal while they are worshipped over in Japan for running 15s.

Let's face it..if a Supra Twin Turbo does it in 13.8 sec..it would be a miracle to do it in 15, don't u think?
I will be goin to the track like I said, either this friday if it doesn't rain or the next. I WILL post the timeslips (unlike most ppl). Hopefully I can run a decent time.

0-400: 14.4 sec
It has 25 kg.m of torque
the Sport20 has about 18.8 and the MSP 20.
So don`t be so dissapointed if you can break 15. We will be all happy of course if you do.
One thing I was thinking, is it possible that the fuel-air ratio is different between Japan and US? (10:1 instead of 12:1)?

I mean you wanna talk about quarter mile times, dsm with these guys is outta control- my old roomate was really into mitsu tuning- I love my 02 ES though- just more juice and good to go.
